Booking rate outbound glossary GLOSSARY

Definition. The share of interested leads that become booked meetings. In algoacquisition's campaigns it runs between 10% and 30% depending on the niche, with a blended 13.5% across all campaigns, and the top of the range belongs to campaigns where a human calls every interested lead inside five minutes.

The range

Broad markets where the offer is still being sharpened sit near 10%. Tight verticals with a sharp offer, such as specialist recruitment or clinical sales, reach 30%. The difference is rarely the lead quality and almost always the handling: how fast the reply is answered, whether a human calls, and whether the conversation is carried to a time on the calendar rather than ended with a link.

What moves it

Reply handling inside five minutes, a warm call inside the same window, and treating the booking as a conversation (booked conversations in algoacquisition's data averaged 5.6 messages) rather than a transaction. Leads that do not book immediately are not lost; "not this month" in April is a meeting in June if someone keeps working the thread, which is why quarterly engagements outperform monthly ones.

How it is measured

Interested leads tagged by a human reply handler, divided into meetings booked with a person at an ICP-matching company within the window. The benchmarks post shows the distribution across 6,800 interested replies.

  • Interested lead — A reply from a person at a company matching the agreed ICP that expresses intent to learn more, see pricing, receive information or book a call. Connection accepts, opens and polite declines do not count.
  • Showed appointment — A sales meeting that was booked through outbound and actually took place, with the prospect present. It is the only outbound metric that directly produces revenue, and the one algoacquisition guarantees.
  • Speed to lead — The time between a prospect's reply or enquiry and the first human response. Research compiled from eight major studies, including Harvard Business Review and MIT, found a response inside five minutes makes contact 100× more likely and qualification 21× more likely than an hour later.
  • Warm calling — A phone call to a prospect who has already replied with interest to outbound, made while that interest is live, usually inside minutes of the reply. It is distinct from cold calling, where the prospect has had no prior contact.
