Interested lead outbound glossary GLOSSARY

Definition. A reply from a person at a company matching the agreed ICP that expresses intent to learn more, see pricing, receive information or book a call. Connection accepts, opens and polite declines do not count.

What qualifies

The test is intent, tagged by a human at the moment the reply lands. "Send me more info", "what does this cost?", "can we talk next week?" and "who else have you done this for?" all qualify. "Thanks, not right now" does not, and neither does a connection accept with no message. The ICP condition matters as much as the intent: an enthusiastic reply from the wrong company is not a lead.

The number behind it

Across 131,516 contacts on algoacquisition client campaigns between April and October 2026, it took on average 130 contacts to produce one interested reply. Trigger-sourced campaigns did it in 44; the best campaign in the set did it in 21. The full benchmarks are here.

Why it is fuel, not revenue

An interested lead is the input to the part of outbound that actually pays: reply handling, calling and booking. Between 10% and 30% of interested leads become booked meetings depending on the niche, and the speed and quality of the response is what moves a campaign from one end of that range to the other. Guarantees expressed in interested leads are therefore guaranteeing the fuel, not the result.

  • Showed appointment — A sales meeting that was booked through outbound and actually took place, with the prospect present. It is the only outbound metric that directly produces revenue, and the one algoacquisition guarantees.
  • Booking rate — The share of interested leads that become booked meetings. In algoacquisition's campaigns it runs between 10% and 30% depending on the niche, with a blended 13.5% across all campaigns, and the top of the range belongs to campaigns where a human calls every interested lead inside five minutes.
  • Speed to lead — The time between a prospect's reply or enquiry and the first human response. Research compiled from eight major studies, including Harvard Business Review and MIT, found a response inside five minutes makes contact 100× more likely and qualification 21× more likely than an hour later.
